What an answer-first paragraph is

When an AI assistant quotes a page, it usually lifts the paragraph that answers the question outright, not the one that promises an answer further down. Leading with the conclusion is the cheapest AEO improvement most pages can make.

Paste a paragraph and its target question below. The score is rule-based, four criteria out of a hundred points, so you get the same result every time, with no AI call and no account.

🎯 Paste one paragraph at a time — the score reflects whether that paragraph leads with a direct answer, using fixed rules, not an AI judgment call.

How we calculate this

Four fixed checks, 25 points each: (1) the first sentence is 25 words or fewer — short enough to be a direct answer; (2) the opening doesn’t start with a filler/hedging phrase from a fixed list (e.g. “in today’s world”, “it is well known that”); (3) the first sentence takes up less than half of the paragraph’s length, meaning the answer comes before the supporting detail, not after; (4) the paragraph as a whole is a reasonable single “chunk” length (roughly 40–160 words) — long enough to be substantive, short enough for an AI system to lift as one self-contained unit.

This is a heuristic, rule-based check, not a measure of writing quality or an AI opinion. A high score means the paragraph is structurally front-loaded; it doesn’t guarantee an AI engine will cite it.
